Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison is seeking a motivated leader to be the next Criminal Division Chief, overseeing over 90 prosecutors and professional staff responsible for 10,000 misdemeanor case referrals per year. The Criminal Division Chief will work closely with the City Attorney and key public safety partners to address Seattle’s significant public safety challenges.

 

The Criminal Division Chief is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Criminal Division, providing legal and prosecutorial direction to the office, and overseeing budget and employment matters. Along with the City Attorney, the Criminal Division Chief will work collaboratively with community stakeholders as well as public safety partners, including the Seattle Police Department, the Seattle Municipal Court, the King County Prosecutor’s Office, and Seattle City Council.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated the ability to successfully:

  • manage the Division while inspiring the best performance from employees.
  • articulate a systems-level view of how to improve the municipal criminal justice system.
  • help with advocating to stakeholders and partners on how to tackle our most significant public safety challenges.
