Rob Saka

Rob Saka is a business attorney in the Technology Transactions & Privacy practice in the Seattle office of Perkins Coie. He focuses his practice on matters involving highly complex technology transactions, licensing, data security and privacy. Rob represents public and private companies in connection with the exploitation and monetization of intellectual property and related technology assets. Additionally, Rob has experience drafting and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements, including those related to cloud computing, confidentiality, big data, augmented/virtual reality, the Internet of Things, open-source software licensing and compliance, advertising, and digital marketing. Rob also maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on both empowering micro-entrepreneurs from underserved communities, and counseling current and former military service members and their families on a wide-range of legal issues. Active in the local community, Rob has previously served on the board of directors for the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and taught intellectual property law to Black youth in Seattle. He is an alum of Kent-Meridian High School, the University of Washington, and the University of California – Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
Prior to law school, Rob served for ten years as an Intelligence Officer in the Air Force Reserves. He is a veteran of the Iraq War, having deployed in support of the “troop surge” of 2007. In his spare time, Rob enjoys competitive distance running and is a qualifier-finisher of the 2013 Boston Marathon.
