Senior Corporate Counsel, Travel Partner Group

Senior Corporate Counsel, Travel Partner Group

We are looking for an attorney with at least 6 years of experience to support Expedia’s lodging supply team. In this role you will be responsible for handling a variety of complex commercial transactions with hotel and hotel chains, vacation rentals, property managers, and other partners within the industry and providing practical advice to business leaders on cutting edge travel and technology issues.

What you’ll do:

  • You will draft and negotiate agreements with hotels and hotel chains, vacation rental property managers and software companies, and other lodging partners throughout the world
  • You will support the day to day operations of Expedia’s hotel and vacation rental supply businesses
  • You will advise business clients on new products, complex regulatory matters, pre-litigation disputes, and strategic business initiatives
  • You will partner with legal colleagues and stakeholders in government affairs, product, engineering, tax, and other teams on key lodging supply initiatives
  • You will develop, implement, and maintain contract templates and other legal processes to drive value and efficiency for the business and the legal department
  • You will manage outside counsel and budgets for legal services

Who you are:

  • You have a J.D. degree or equivalent with membership in at least one state bar, or the equivalent
  • You are a self-starter who can’t wait to dive into a range of complex matters with minimal supervision
  • You are not afraid to step out of your legal role and provide business advice where appropriate
  • You are comfortable being uncomfortable and you can make pragmatic decisions and recommendations even in ambiguous situations
  • You want to own relationships with senior executives and establish constructive (and fun!) working relationships with business clients, legal colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • You have experience with complex commercial transactions, and you are comfortable dealing with regulatory, consumer protection, competition, privacy, and intellectual property matters
  • You have been practicing as a lawyer for at least 6 years and have substantial experience at a top law firm or an in-house legal department
