Public Finance Associate – 103 Tax & Bond Counsel
The law firm of Foster Garvey P.C. is seeking a junior or mid-level attorney to join its Municipal, Health and Housing Practice Group. This position will provide an opportunity to work with the firm’s local government clients on municipal bond issues. A successful public finance practice requires long term training and mentorship, which Foster Garvey will provide.
Working with our 103 tax principals, the candidate’s practice would focus on federal tax requirements and restrictions applicable to all kinds of tax-exempt obligations, including state and local bonds, qualified 501(c)(3) bonds, qualified small issue (industrial development) and exempt facility bonds. The position also includes general (non-tax) representations in public finance, including on governmental, 501(c)(3) and tax credit financings.
The successful candidate will have an LLM and background with public finance, municipal law or representing local governments in transactions or litigation. We will consider candidates with experience in revenant transactional practices (for example, real estate, securities, corporate finance or tax) that have a stated affinity for representing governments.
Candidates based in Seattle, WA, Spokane, WA or Portland, OR will be considered.
