Music Attorney

Job Description:

The law firm of Foster Garvey PC is seeking an experienced music partner-level or of counsel-level attorney to join the Sports, Arts & Entertainment Practice in the firm’s Commercial, Intellectual Property and Technology Group.  This position will provide the attorney with a full-service bi-coastal platform to attract and grow a wide range of individual and business clientele as well as the opportunity to provide hands-on day-to-day close counseling of the firm’s existing clients, and to structure and lead sophisticated transactions.  The candidate will have the opportunity to work regularly with talented attorneys in a wide variety of practice areas across the firm’s five offices.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in music law and extensive experience in the areas of recording contracts, music publishing, touring, songwriting, music production, licensing and sponsorships and endorsements, preferably with a history of talent-side representation, but label/publisher-side welcome as well.  Experience in sports or other areas of entertainment such as film, television, literary a plus, as is experience in corporate law.

Admission in New York or California required.

Candidates based in Seattle, WA, Spokane, WA Portland, OR, Washington, DC or New York, NY areas will be considered.
