Position overview:
This Division Chief ALJ is a member of OAH's leadership team and is responsible for agency-wide management of three caseloads: Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) Public Assistance, Health Care Authority (HCA) Medical Benefits, and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). This position manages the daily operations of the Seattle field office, in conjunction with the office manager, and leads the ALJs assigned to the Seattle field office. The Division Chief enables support staff and ALJs to provide high quality and timely administrative hearings and decisions pursuant to RCW Chapter 34.05 and other applicable laws consistent with the requirements of due process, and provide courteous and fair treatment to all concerned. This position works on multiple teams, both in the local field office, across the agency, and with external stakeholders, and is responsible for supporting and carrying out the agency mission, vision, values and goals. This position will directly supervise three Senior ALJs who are front-line supervisors for approximately 21 employees working in the Seattle field office.
